A Touch of Difference

(this is for my assignment, a reaction paper for my history subject concerning how to make history subject interesting for students:))


With regards to the article concerning History subject, I must say, that article was just one of the many articles that evaluate History subject and teachers. We all know that somehow there’s this difficulty in relating ourselves when we study History, because of the dates, names and places that we are forced to review, yes we review, we read, but we don’t really see the meaning of those things that were written and taught to us. But what matters most is that, History will connect us from the past so we have to keep ourselves straight-forward on learning this subject. The more we engage to reading news and articles about those late heroes and special people, the more we will understand how great it is to be back from the past.


As an ABComm student and a future media practitioner, I know, I must be responsible in keeping the visibility of our History in every student’s hearts. Many of the students today were lazy to learn History and other cultural stuffs, so why wouldn’t I suggest things that I know will help for better.

For the teachers, I guess, teaching History for you is a big challenge and we’re all aware of the reasons. Teachers must have this great idea of how students become interested when they see videos/films and some other stuffs that’ll really make a big difference with the way they teach from the past. Students nowadays are really interested with visuals but not with boring written things, if you want to gain more of this “interesting karma/appeal” you have to make a mind set of your own which the students will follow.

For the students, we have to be more optimistic of what the past stories could bring us. However, we have to stay put of what we are learning each day. If you really want to see how History and other Past-related subjects can change things, first you have to put in your hearts that everything you read is somehow will turn as your stepping stones to whatever you’ll become in the future, because accept it or not, each of us were entitled to a scratch of the past, meaning, we have this a little bit of contribution to gain what we want for the future because whatever we do in the present will someday be listed in the past, make it or not, sooner or later we’ll realize, we learned even from the little things that History books taught us.

For what is written will be remembered and what is done will be noticed, changes will come, differences will stay forever. The measurement of life is not about the way you live your life out, but it is how you learn and make difference from it. :)
